This is a story about love .The naughty bay wanted to feed jam to the goldfish at home; I want to sleep with my dog in the kennel think; I want to put the domesticated white mouse in the refrigerator; all these fantastic ideas were rejected by my father. However,there are fine at my best fiend Rosie’s house, heart inexplicable loss and sadness...

The innocent little bog really wanted to leave the house,or you can get a new dad at the dad store,let the father also change a child; but dad doesn’t want another baby, this made my father very sad.The little bog wanted to go to the park to tide his bike with his father, play ball, play together,buy toys...Those little things are fun and interesting;the little bog nuder stood:Those embarrassing traces in the growth which are not dazzling ,is now all down-to-earth and warm...Your own father is the best father in the world.

Also let me realize:Dad’s love is like rain,nourish me;and like water, Irrigate me here; also like the wind,blow this me ; has been standing firmly by my side to protect me,make me happy and warm...

After reading of Dad For Sale

This winter holiday,I read HELBLING’s book  Dad For Sale .

This book talks about:A little boy wanted his dad to leave the house because his dad didn’t allow him to put jam in the fish tank,sleep in the dog bed,or hide his mouse in the fridge,while his friend Rosie can.He asked his dad to go to the shop.He wanted to get a new dad.He told his dad another to child can buy him.He will tell another child that he is good.Dad likes to talk with him in the park,likes to play with him and buy him toys.They have lots of fun.Finally,the child didn’t change his dad because his dad was the best in the world.

After reading this book,I think a lot and think of my dad.My dad is also very strict with me.He doesn’t allow me to do this or that,and sometimes beats me. But I know it’s all for my good.I don’t want to change my dad.My dad is unique and the best dad.

After reading The Leopard and the Monkey

In the winter holiday. I read a book. It is very wonderful. Its name is The Leopard and the Monkey.

The story is: The leopard is in the well.The baby monkey pulls the leopard out of the well.But the leopard wants to eat the baby monkey. Later, a tortoise comes. The tortoise and the baby monkey work together to trick the leopard into the well again.

In this story, I like tortoises best. He is humorous.He has a sense of justice, and he’s very smart. He defeats the leopard with wisdom and saves the baby monkey.

The story tells us: We can´t be bleeding heart. In the face of bad people, we cannot be merciful. We should be on guard and always be vigilant. If we are in danger, we should keep calm, use our brains and use our wisdom to solve difficulties.

The story has taught me a lot. I love this story and enjoy reading it.

Be calm when things change
——After reading The Leopard and the Monkey

This winter holiday, I read the picture book The Leopard and the Monkey .What kind of story is this? Now listen to me.

One morning in the jungle,the leopard felt hungry,and his favorite breakfast was the monkeys.However,the leopard fell into a well,and only the baby monkey was willing to help him.The monkey threw the rope into the well and pulled the leopard up.After the leopard came out,he wanted to eat the monkey for breakfast.The little monkey ran into the tortoise while running away, and they together cheated the huge and fierce leopard back into the well.

Who doesn't like such a kind, brave and witty monkey! I not only want to be a kind person like a little monkey, but also want to learn from him the spirit of calm and calm in case of trouble, and actively use his brain to find ways to solve problems. As the saying goes, "there are always more ways than difficulties".

Review on The Leopard and the Monkey

I read a book called The Leopard and the Monkey during my vacation. The story impressed me a lot.

A leopard fell in a well in the jungle. The baby monkey was very kind to help the leopard with a rope. When the hungry leopard climbed out of the well, he wanted the baby monkey for breakfast. A tortoise passed by, he got to know what happened between the leopard and the monkey. Immediately, he had an idea and said,” A baby monkey can’t pull a big leopard out of a well.” To show how they had just done, the leopard jumped back into the well. As a result, the baby monkey was saved.

In this story, the tortoise is my favorite character. As the old generation, he has more experience, and he is very smart. He was so calm to solve the problem easily.

Actually, it reminded me of Master Dongguo and the Wolf. Both of the stories tell us that sometimes too much kindness will lead us to a dangerous situation. If we are in trouble, we’d better calm down and think hard , then, use wisdom to overcome difficulties. 

After reading Dad for sale

During the winter vacation, I read a book called “ Dad for sale”. It really touched me.

In the story, John is a smart and humorous child. He has many wild ideas, he wants to put jam in the fish tank, he wants to sleep in the dog bed, even wants to put the mouse in the fridge, but these ideas are opposed by his father. So he told his father that he didn't love him any more, and he would send him to the Dad Shop for sale. Dad was worried and sad. In order to comfort his upset father and prove that he was a good father, John recalls the many happy times they had together, which not only strengthened the bond between father and son, but also made John realize that he had the best dad in the world.

The short story reveals the children's complex feelings for their father, which is sweet and warm only between relatives can realize. Every child is a precious gift, and every father is the best father for his child. Let's wait for each other, grow together, and become No.1 in each other's minds forever.

The Sun is Broken

In the winter holiday of 2022, I read a good book called "The Sun is Broken". This book is imaginative, vivid and interesting, and suitable for everyone to read.

This book tells about a little girl who made a special wish on her seventh birthday. A series of strange things happened: a cow with a mailbox and a fireman flew in the sky. The little girl thought the cow was coming to send her a birthday card, but her parents didn't believe it because they couldn't see it at all. After a while, the dog at home sang the birthday song again, and the father thought that the little girl had heard it wrong and ignored it. At this time, the phone rang, and the little girl took the phone. There came the voice of her grandmother, but her mother said that her grandmother had died long ago. She lived in the sky, and the little girl was very sad. But soon, the little girl guessed how Grandma got to the sky again, and her father took her to the window to watch the sunset. An incredible thing happened - the sun melted! The sun fell into the sea, making a huge noise, and the color spread in the water. My father and mother were surprised, but the little girl smiled because she saw my grandmother driving towards her!

This article is very imaginative, a flying cow, a singing dog, and a melting sun. In fact, these are all the wishes made by the little girl, which makes readers question, what is this wish? I think this wish is probably because the little girl wants her grandmother who has died for many years to attend her birthday, so there will be such an imagination, reflecting the naive and lively little girl and her yearning for her grandmother.

——After reading The thirsty tree

How weak the tree looked without of the water! But the situation has improved due to the help with the bird and wind. They worked together in order to make rainwater fall down. As a result, the leaves have turned green and the roots have been lively again.

From the story, when the tree asked for help, the bird took action at once to do something for it. Exactly, the little bird was kind and helpful. Also, it  was patient enough to insist on helping others although the wind didn’t agree to help them at first. The wind was also helpful since it tried its best to blow the rain clouds over the tree. Then let’s change the point of the view to take a look at the tree. When something worried it, the tree didn’t choose to tolerate the pain on its own. Instead, it gave up the vanity and depended on others. The wind was able to move the clouds, and the bird had the ability to make the rain fall off the sky. Both of them couldn’t solve the problem by itself, so they gathered their abilities into a group. In this way can they make a success.

So you see, nobody is perfect with all the abilities. So we should be united as one when we face some difficuties and get used to use the power of the community to fight against the difficuties. We sometimes pay too much attention on personal strength, but we just ignored the importance of living in the collective. As the story told us, community can provide us with warm, love, and material things. It is much more powerful than only one person. So let’s take part in the social practise. Never lose yourself in the world of your own. Remember that success comes from solidarity.

We should remember that despite how one is strong, without the support from the community, he won’t become successful.          

  A Warm Story

宜兴市东氿小学 五（2）班 徐若忻

This winter holiday, I read an interesting book. It named “The thirsty tree”. I like it very much. It tells us a warm story.

There is a thirsty tree on top of the hill. The bird Cloudbreak flies over to the tree. The thirsty tree asks him for help. Cloudbreak helps the thirsty tree. He finds the wind. The wind finds a gray cloud. Then,Cloudbreak makes the rain. The tree is not thirsty at last. It fulls of life. The tree and Cloudbreak become friends.

I like Cloudbreak very much. He is kind and helpful. He helps his friends. We all have friends. When we are in trouble, we can ask them for help. When our friends need help, we should do something for them. I think “rose presented, smell remained” is the best description to help others. Friends should help each other.

I like this book very much. It tells a lot. Cloudbreak is clever. The gray cloud can make the rain. He finds the right way to help the thirsty tree. We will also meet a lot of difficulties in our life. We need to think more when we are in trouble. We can communicate more when solving problems.

A book is a gift. We can read again and again. The more that we read, the more things that we will know. This is my favourite book.

Reading Response of The Thirsty Tree

宜兴东氿小学 五（2）班 戴浩翊

English reading can improve the overall level of English, develop a sense of English language, enrich English vocabulary and improve the writing as well. All of these advantages come from English reading, so I read a lot of English picture books, and the one of my favorite is The Thirsty Tree.

It is very hot and the tree on the top of the hill is very thirsty. It’s leaf becomes into brown. Suddenly the tree meets a bird named YUNLIE and it ask YUNLIE to find some water for itself. YUNLIE said there is not any clouds for its hitting here. The tree suggest YUNLIE to ask help from the wind and let the wind blows the clouds to tree’s overhead. The wind is having a rest and ask YUNLIE who it is. YUNLIE introduce itself to the wind and requests the wind to blow the clouds to the top of hill, because there is a thirsty tree there. The wind is very tired and gets into sleep soon.

The next day, the wind finds out a dark clouds and blows them to cover the thirst tee. YUNLIE fly into the clouds and digs the hole with the beak, then the clouds become into heavy rains, the tree’s leaf becomes green, the tree is not thirsty again.

I am wondering why the bird is called YUNLIE, can it break up the clouds? Then I continue to read and find that the bird is do its best to find the water for the tree. I was touched for this story that the bird and the wind are so kind to help the tree find the water successfully.

I am deeply inspired by reading this book, when we help others, we can get a lot of happiness.

After Reading The Thirsty Tree

I read a lot of books this winter holiday, one of them is The Thirsty Tree. It’s very interesting and impressive, I’d like to share it with you.

The fairy tale is about a thirsty tree, a bird and the wind. On top of the hill, there is a very thirsty tree. Under the ground, the tree’s roots are tired and thirsty. They can’t find any water. One day, a little bird flies over the tree. The tree asks the bird to find some water. However, there is no cloud nearby. The bird has to find the wind and asks a wind to blow a cloud here. The wind refuses the bird at first because he is resting, but he promises that he will do it tomorrow. The next day, the wind keeps his promise and finds a big gray cloud full of water behind a white cloud. He blows and blows until the cloud is over the thirsty tree. Little bird flies around and makes lots of holes. At last, it rains and rains on the thirsty tree. The tree’s leaves turn green and its roots drink until they are full. The tree is no longer thirsty.

The story tells us where the rain comes from in an interesting way. It is not only a fairy tale but also a story that we can learn science knowledge from. After reading the book, I look up a lot of information about how rain is produced. I think the book is really helpful for me.

Sam and the sunflower seeds

This winter holiday, l read Sam and the sunflower seeds, feeling very interesting.

This story tells that Sam likes to visit his grandfather in the countryside and water the flowers together. One day, Sam found that the sunflowers were missing. He felt sad, he took his hand, then gave him a dark, dry sunflower and told Sam, sunflower seeds can get oil, and small chi also like, the grandpa gave him some seeds, let him plant, Sam put it in a safe place, to water it, day by day, but sunflower did not grow, he went to the river grandpa, and learned that sunflowers like the sun. So, Sam just put it under the sun, the sunflower grew up slowly.

I like Sam because he’ very positive and optimistic and he’ always optimistic no matter what the problem is and he keeps going and even though the sunflower seeds didn’t grow at first, he doesn’t give up and they grow, right.

This story tells us to be full of sunshine in our hearts and be positive like sunflower.

After reading Selfish Giant

宜兴市东氿小学  六（1）班  陈禹铮

Today, I read the picture book Selfish Giant, and after reading it, I learned a lot of truth.

The story goes like this：Once upon a time, there was a giant garden where lively children played all year round. However, this giant is very selfish, and after returning from his distant youkai friends, he erects a high wall to prevent the children from playing. As a result, spring came, even birds could not fly in, and trees were not blossoming and bearing fruit. Spring, summer, autumn have not been to his garden, his garden is full of cold winter every day. One day, a hole was opened in the wall, through which children climbed into it to play, and suddenly the garden immediately turned into spring. The giant cut down the fence, and welcomed the children to play in his garden. A few years later, the giant died under a tree, covered with white flowers, this ending tells us that the giant went to the garden of heaven after death.

After reading it, I think this story is so beautiful. It tells us that we can't be too selfish and learn to share. We can get more happiness in sharing. We also have to be a person who can help others in order to reap greater happiness.

Brave skater boy

During this winter vocation, I read a lot of books. Skater Boy is one of my favourite book. This book is very interesting.

The hero of this book is the skater boy. All the children like him, but the adults don't. They think skateboarding is very dangerous. While adults are talking about how to keep a child out of a skateboard, a baby is climbing to the top of the climbing frame.And he will fall down. At this time,the skater boy caught the baby.

The skater boy in the story is very powerful. He is not only good at skating,but also brave.When others are in danger, he stays calm and helps them.Finally, he won everyone's recognition.

In daily life, we should learn from him.We should help others when they are in trouble. In this way , we can gain more trust and more friends.
